Introduction and Mission Statement
In the history of Persian civilization, Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh (1882-1967) is recognized as one of the most outstanding and preeminent Iranian
leaders. A popular, democratically elected, secular Prime Minister in the early 1950’s, Mossadegh rose to advance and transform the society by empowering the populace to imagine a more enlightened social and political system. His
lifelong campaign for democracy gave Iran a period of independence from both foreign exploitation and domestic tyranny not seen in centuries. Mossadegh personified the spirit of a leader with great interest and concern for human welfare, freedom and dignity.
A study of Dr. Mossadegh’s efforts and the era in which he lived provides rich and valuable lessons for political and social reform. With Iran and the Middle East dominating the news and expected to remain so for a long time, there
is an urgent need to study, promote, and preserve the history of this dynamic period of democratic movement in Iran.
The Mossadegh Project was founded to advance awareness and understanding of:
• The life and political career of Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh.
The Mossadegh Project will produce an expansive museum-quality exhibit displaying related documents, photographs, audio-visual materials, books, art works, memorabilia and other relevant artifacts. The exhibit will also feature
lectures, discussions and film screenings.
• Mossadegh’s legacy as Prime Minister and his government’s triumphs and failures.
• The fall of the Mossadegh government at the hands of domestic and foreign enemies, culminating in a CIA coup, and its impact on Iran, the Middle East
and the world.
Our long term vision is the realization of a Mossadegh Center which will include a library & museum in the U.S. dedicated to the study of Mossadegh’s life and history of democracy in Iran. The addition of a
Mossadegh sculpture will give the visitors greater intimacy with the subject and adds
permanence to his image as a significant historical figure.
This independent endeavor seeks the sponsorship of both individuals and private institutions.
We welcome the contributions of archival materials, financial sponsorships, and constructive input.

پروژه مصدق کاملا بدون وابستگی و بدور از سود جویی است, هرچند ما از افراد و موسسات آزاد در خواست کمکهای مادی و تعهدات کیفیتی داریم.
